THURSDAY NOON

We are now staying at the towns camp site. It’s located at the foot of the city’s ski slope, and Mom parked just at the bottom of the ski lift. Every winter growing up, this is where Mom was skiing both down hill and cross country. The slope and the tracks are lit up through the woods, because days are very short in the winter up here in the North. This is a picture taken by the web camera located o the roof of the lift building.

Yesterday we went for a bike ride to a shopping center on top of the hill. Holey smokes is Mom in bad shape, she was pedaling and huffing and puffing to get up. She blamed the bike not having any gears .......... I cheered her on the best I could, and we made it......................going back down hill was really speedy, almost scary.

The only reason we did go to the mall, was to get my treats which is very important at bed time. I didn’t get one last night, and that’s NOT ok .

Fall colors are starting to show, and that’s pretty, but I keep telling Mom we better get going before it starts to snow.................not to worry she says...............hope she's right..

this is probably the last of the wild flowers before a thick blanket of snow will cover everything

at many places these kind of benches,half houses and a cement ring are put up ? Mom says it’s because most Swedes loves the outdoors, and mostly in the wintertime they dress warm in many layers, and make a fire in these pits (cemet ring) and grill hot dogs...........Mom says she’s not missing that............

early in the morning an entire herd of little kids on bikes showed up. It was a first grade class from a nearby school....I stayed away...... This kids are 6 years old and they climbed the slope and had a picnic,after they went on their way in a very orderly fashion. Two teachers were accompanied them.

Mom decided to climb up the slopes and take pictures, I preferred to stay in bed, which I did

some places are pretty steep....

good thing no one was below when these boulders came rolling down.............. looks like they're digging and making a little jump ready for the ski sason.....

Last night Mom went to meet some friends from her puppy hood, so once again I had to watch Adrienne, That cost Mom a few treats.......................that I surley deserved.

Today we are being real lazy, laying around, watching TV, reading, knitting ...........and napping.

Yesterday we watched POTUS visiting Sweden, too bad I wasn't there to greet him. I could have told him a lot I've learned about Sweden, and I could have taught him a few more words than HEJ ..............well, next time maybe.....................all is well...............wet kisses to all

MONDAY MORNING

Good morning,it’s 8 AM,............it has been raining almost all night, and I have been complaining a lot. Mom thought I needed to go out so she got up in the middle of the night and walked me, but that wasn’t it..................Not sure myself, but I wasn’t happy, which meant I kept Mom awake, and that didn’t make her happy. ...........I have done my morning toilet, had breakfast, and are now sleeping happily. Pisses Mom off a little, since she can’t sleep .............Oh well, who said life is fair ?

Yesterday we went out fishing with 2 of Moms cousins and a cousin husband............that was fun, and even more fun for Mom since she was the only one that caught anything.

She caught a small pike, that was let back in the lake to grow bigger until next time Mom comes.........

I was watching the water real carefully, making sure we didn’t run aground............I did a great job....

When we got back to the shore I discovered a great looking mud patch, Mom carried me over it and when I tried to go back she yelled NO at me................no chance to explore, but I carefully memorized the road to get here and when we got back to the house, I took a chance while everyone was standing around chatting.......................... woohhhhooooo here I am all by myself and it smells and feels exquisite ...........after no time at all I hear my name called, but I ignored it. A few minutes later I start to hear panic in Moms voice............................so I’m getting ready to run back..................I picked up speed, thinking she never know where I’ve been..............I look up, and ..................there she is ............oh shi%......she said I stunk ?? and I’m not allowed in to Adrienne before a bath............so it was straight to the tub........no pictures ? Mom was a little annoyed I think ? First this, and than keeping her awake most of the night....................I better lay low today, or she’ll really make a bedroom rug out of me, like she threaten me with sometimes.....

Yesterday we went up on the ski slope where Mom learned downhill skiing as a puppy. From there it’s a great view of the city. Mom grew up on the south side and we’re now standing on the North side. She had a pretty long hike to carry her skis back then.

Sadly the lodge was abandoned and almost falling apart....................Mom couldn’t believe her eyes ? if she had the money she’ll buy the place, because it sure has a lot of potential to become a real good business. .............I would like it too............lot’s of places to explore............not alone though Mom says...........Moose, Bears, Foxes, Bobcats and Wolfs lives here...............................Ha .....are they worse than Alligators I ask ?

Now I got another story about Mom as a puppy. Winter time, she and her friends used to come up here at nights and slide on a carhood............Volvo Amazon had the best hoods ............no telling where the hoods came from ??

Moms cousin and her husband are making knives...........quite impressive work ..........

Looks like last nights clouds are going away, and a little bit of sun is peaking through............maybe it'll be another beautiful day.................we'll be heading into the city later, but like I said before, today I'll be laying real low.....................wet kisses to all

Change of plans, ( Mom is good at that ) we’re still at Vanjas house, and 2 days in a row we went to a food festival. I was pushed in my wagon so I shouldn’t get so dirty Mom said..............I didn’t care so much about that, but was real happy to get a ride when I noticed all the people. I also like to bark at unsuspecting dogs that walks by and don’t see me in there...............Mom don’t like that very much though.......

Here we are in front of a Laplanders tent.............it smelled real good in there, lots of reindeer skins.

There was so many different foods so it was difficult to decide what to eat. Here’s some Swedish cowboys cooking moose, reindeer and salmon the same way they would do in the wild. For ca. $30.00 you can eat as much as you wanted, and that was what I suggested we’ll eat, but Noooooo I had no say ?

Vanja bought a lottery ticket from Red Cross, and won a table cloth

We walked around all the stands looking at all kind of stuff being offered, good thing I was in the wagon, or I would have been stepped on many times ............. Lingonberries and blueberries and lots of chanterelles being sold.

The hockey team in Moms puppy town won gold this year and the entire town lives for the season to start. Everybody and I mean EVERYBODY, are hockey fans and support their team here. Mom was challenged to play, and was doing pretty good, but lost 0 to 1................

These girls were frying some real good smelling stuff, and they thought I was cute, but do you think they gave me something to eat ? ...............of course not..... I did get some chicken from Moms plate later though

This stuff is Mom’s all time favorite, it’s deep fried camembert cheese served with cloudberries ..............she didn’t share even a little crumble of this with me ...........

we didn’t spend anytime at all in the pub ..........

I was so thirsty and mom had forgotten my bowl, so I had to drink from a cup...........it worked just fine

We passed this view on the way back to the car, trees are still green here, but fall is coming real quickly and pretty soon all this will change colors. You can already see the changes on many trees............summer shore is short up here in the north.

Days like this are a lot of fun, but very exhausting so it’s a good thing Adrienne is waiting with a nice bed to take a nap on.......

As Mom is writing this I’m still asleep, ( I told her yesterday what I wanted to say ) it’s 6.30 am and from what I heard last night we’re supposed to go fishing with a cousin today. If the weather allows .............at this time it doesn’t look very promising, but I sure hope it’ll change because I really like going out in a boat. If I like fishing ? don’t know yet, I’ll let you know...................wet kisses to all.
